B.O.B-Muddiest Point

The muddiest point of this unit for me was the application problems. The graphing and finding equations were going well until we started the application problems, especially the ones on the review. I could graph easily with radians but when we started to use numbers it was hard to find the b value and the phase shift. As we did more problems and I got help from people around me, I started to understand the problems and what I had to do to solve them. The ferris wheel project has also helped me to further understand how to find those values. One of the main reasons I was struggling with the application problems was I wasn't understanding how to do my conversions from one unit to another. I would go to the wrong unit or use the wrong value when converting to another unit. I understand what I'm doing now and I can do those problems much better.
When secant and cosecant graphs were first introduced to us I thought they would be hard to graph. But Mr. Jackson gave us some very helpful tips and the secant and cosecant graphs were as easy as doing the sine and cosine graphs. It helped a lot to draw the sine or cosine wave right on the graph and then do the secant or cosecant graph using that. The asymptotes were easy to find too. Where ever the sine or cosine graph crossed the midline there was an asymptote.
